Corporate social responsibility and ethical leadership at ECOWAS commission Abuja, Nigeria

Abstract

The study investigated the relationship between Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) and Ethical Leadership in the ECOWAS Commission in Abuja, Nigeria. The research adopted the quantitative research design, gathering data from 80 respondents who represented 40% of the Commission's staff. The data were analyzed using SPSS version 26.0, employing descriptive statistics, reliability tests (the Cronbach's alpha), Pearson correlation as well as multiple regression analysis to evaluate the interrelationship of CSR and ethical leadership practices. The results found strong positive correlations among CSR dimensions of transparency, accountability, employee welfare, and human rights vis-a-vis ethical leadership behaviors, with implications for governance, organizational trust, and sustainable performance in the West African sub-region.
